Hi, new to the boat community but have a lot of experience around engines. I recently bought a 1996 Wellcraft Eclipse w/ a cracked 5.0 block in it, and already have a 5.7 to throw in it (Put Brass Freeze Plugs fittings in it). I pulled the outdrive, unbolted 4 motor mount bolts, 2 Flywheel cover bolts, disconected throttle linkage, pulled harness, undid hosing to the Hydraulic Reservoir, Unhooked Exhaust Manifold, and use a Engine Hoist to start pulling the motor. After about 20 minutes the engine hasnt budged at all so I shake the boat and realize the rear of the boat is an inch off the trailer. Im surprised my Hoist lifted that much weight honestly, but Im thrown for a loop because everything I have read says thats all that needs to be disconnected. Any help is appreciated.
