2004 ranger

I just purchased a 2004 ranger with a vx250 hpdi. i noticed the start battery was completely dead when i got it back home. i installed a new interstate agm battery and four days later this battery is completely dead. when i started charging the battery i noticed a slight clicking coming from both driver modules. the only way to get it to stop was to unplug the connectors or remove the driver relay. i swapped the driver relay with the main ecm fuse and it did the same thing. when i remove the relay and reinstall it, the driver modules will quit clicking until i power up the ignition panel. once power has been sent down the line, the relay will stay energized. until i remove it again. then it will stay off until i send power back into the system. wondering since the ecm controls the driver module system if it might be a bad ecm? too expensive to throw parts at. thanks in advance.
