Joe Reeves timing method ???

After doing a lot of reading regarding the Joe Reeves method I have a question regarding idle timing. From what I can gather, this method sets the WOT timing using a timing light. If this is set correctly will the idle timing be very close to where it should be? If the throttle valves are closed and the roller is set on the cam correctly, am I right to assume that the idle will be very close to being correct?

Sorry ----But the idle timing looks after itself.---You only check maximum timing advance.------You need to make sure that throttle plates are closed at idle.----And that throttle plates open at the correct time.----I am always curious as to why folks want to check timing as it is set at the factory and normally requires no fiddling.----So what is your motor doing / not doing ?

Idles perfectly but bogs down when going to wot. It will sit on 4000rpm all day long but doesn't like being pushed beyond that mark.
