I am awaiting a new boat with a 5.7gxi. The engine is raw water cooled with the pump mounted on the front of the crankshaft. Can the impeller be changed with the boat in the water.

"This depends on how deep your outdrive is in the water, but under normal circumstances one section of the raw water suction hose is routed above the waterline. If you experience water ingress after loosening the raw pump cover, you can always disconnect the suction hose from the pump and either place it above the waterline or cap it temporarily."
