water pump question

I just bought a 2016 9.9 Suzuki and the water pump appears to be working (its peeing good) but there is also water bubbling out where the shift rod go down through lower unit. any ideas what would cause this. My 20hp suzuki does not do this.
 
I assume your talking about the area where the gearcase and the midsection connect? I believe if your getting good water flow (pressure) then probably nothing to worry about. Crack the drainplug on the bottom of the gearcase and see if your getting any water in there. If there is no water in your oil you should be fine.
 
Thank you for your reply, I had almost forgotten I had posted. ​Back in April when I bought the motor I did as you suggested, I actually changed gear oil ( it looked fine ) and I took lower unit off to check the water pump and water tube. Everything looks normal, so Im not sure why the water bubbles out where it does, but it is not a worry anymore.
