We have a 2000 Chris Craft 328 with dual 5.7's. It has developed a very loud sound similar to detonation but louder. Have done tune up. Had just gotten boat back from dealer. It ran great on the way home. Had a hard shift to reverse putting it in the slip. (My fault...was hurrying and knew better). Now it begins this loud sound from the engine compartment at about 1/2 throttle.
Looking for suggestions but wondering if anyone has had a problem at the drive that only became audible at increased RPM.
