I bought a 1983 Lowe john boat with 83 johnson 35 horse outboard the remote controls for shifter work ok but throttle is very erractic is it possible to seperate the throttle into its own control either hand or foot?
 
Yes that can be done.----Likely cheaper to repair the control that you have now.---Take it apart and find the issue.
 
ok this great company has a repair kit for these controls yes they are meant for this outboard ,have you or anyone ever done this repair? I am a retired automotive tech. now working at a Advance auto parts store,so I have some repair experience, I wonder how bad this repair is?
