200hp Evinrude Needle Adjustment - 6 1/2 turns

On a 1995 200hp Evinrude OceanPro 2-stroke, I have to set all 6 carb needles 6 1/2 turns out for the engine to run smoothly. Compression is on-spec and carbs have been removed, cleaned (not rebuilt cuz everything looked good), replaced. Was going to leave well enough alone but seems excessive considering spec is 2-3 turns. Am I using twice as much fuel? Anyone have any experience or suggestions to get the needle adjustment back in spec? Don't want to fix something that ain't broke either. HMU with questions or further clarification. TY.

I believe I have the same engine as you do. I will check where my idle screws are set tonight and get back to you, I know thats not really the answer you were looking for, but maybe we can get others to reply too. I am having fuel issues with mine as well. Mine is on a 1995 218CCF Wellcraft.
