Hi,can anyone help, I picked up what i belive to be a Johnson 20hp outboard from a boat sale, engine runs fairly well but needs a bit of tlc, however it has no serial number plate so unable to work out date /model etc, the only info ive found is on the plug on the side of the engine, i need some parts for it but cant order without the model etc, i`m not sure its a 20hp and think it might be 25, but as for the year i`ve no idea, early 80s at a guess or maybe a little earlier even, any help would be much appreciated, this site for some reason wont let me upload a photo but on the cap is
