Hey all,
I have a 1992 Yamaha 30hp (2 cylinder single carb model# c30elrq) outboard that nees new LU seals. The (incorrect) oem manual (c30R) I have for it is accurate except for the lower unit which lists a 4 bolt water pump that is more traditional in design. Unfortunately my motor has a water pump housing with 3 bolts and a lower bearing housing that is removed with a special tool that is probably splined (not 2 bolt design). I was wondering how to remove the upper driveshaft seals. Do I have to remove the lower bearing housing via special tool to get to a pinion nut to remove the driveshaft? The lower unit appears to be the same one used on the 30 hp mariners as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am attaching a few photos so you can see the style of Lu I have. Thanks
