How can I check to see if my power head is cracked I was told to check for cracks in the front were my spark plugs go under the cover were cylinders are and all up in there now if there hair line cracks how can I find out do I use a expansion plug in cylinder and compress it with air and use a color solution?? I liked to know for sure before I send my power head off to be bored out...Thanks Pond jumper
 
I pressure test questionable blocks by closing them off from below, filling them with water, and applying 5 psi air pressure. You'll need a 1/4 steel plate and gasket below the block.

Never seen or heard of this on any the small/big bore L3 and L4 loopers. Only need to check if something got on top of piston and beat the top of cylinder block.
