Old boat with 1971 25 - 30hp. can't find with serial# 5571 boat is old aluminum, has makeshift steering cable guides. Cable broke it was a Morse 132" for rotory helm. Motor doesn't have steering tube, so bought sea stars , old school mount. First for me ok. (For no tube motors). It has the ball- socket type mount that bolts to transom, then a bracket that holds slip tube for cable... I've worked with cables and mounts. How do you tilt motor up with that style. Any advice would be appreciated.

FWIW, My old boat had a transom swivel / cable setup. The '57 Scott-McColloch 75 Hp had no problem when tilting.
I was able to use that same cable through the tube on the 90 Hp Chrysler I bought.
