Serial# ob113882 I think last number hard to read, just got a 16 aluminum boat with motor on it, been sitting several years in estate, dirty nasty and neglected. going to try to get it running, Going to repair or replace water pump and clean carbs. What else should be checked? going to lube the cylinders before trying to crank. Is this a 1987 model? made by Yamaha? does it use mercury control cable? thanks for any help
 
No way that 4 cylinder motor is a Yamaha design.----Same design as started by Mercury in the 1950's.-------If the auto blend unit is still in the boat then throw it over the fence as far as you can.----Replace the impeller before you launch the boat.
 
lubed up cylinders and spun without plugs(a little diesel fuel) checked compression all cyl. reading about 135 to 138psi maybe reading a little high due to lubrication what should this
used motor run on compression with open throttle? thanks
