40 HP Force 1995 compatibility

I have a 1995 40 HP Force outboard and want to know if the lower unit and other parts like Solenoid, Starter, Carb and Stator, Etcetera will fit and work on a 1997 40 HP Force..?

I heard Mercury outboards from 1990's that are 70 HP to 120 HP can use same parts (are compatible).?
Is it the same for Force outboards since they are made from Mercury.?
 
The 95 was the last year for Force ignition parts.
Most parts won't cross over on the ignition.
96 up are the same.
Lower units and T@T are the same.
The individual parts need to be cross checked.

The 70-120 Forces used the Force block and Mercury
lower units.
The Mercury used Mercury
Then in 99 they dropped the Force motor.

What is the best way to cross check if the ignition parts will work or not work.?
I am thinking ignitions parts are Trigger, Stator, Starter, Solenoid, cables that connect the spark plugs and couple other things can't remember tight now.
 
To cross check the parts???
Find a site that has the part numbers.
Then on the computer open the corresponding
years and compare the part #s.

This site has a parts finder section, when you
open the site look in the Orange section and
find the first thing in that section, should say.
"Boat Engine Parts" open that and follow the
links and find your motor.
This site has a lot listed but not everything.
There are some that are better and some worse.
