Hey I just got this motor a week ago and still can’t figure out the year or what ratio to mix the gas/oil. Any help appreciated.

The plate says an --FD-14 which is for a 1960 model 18 HP Johnson.----The powerhead info is for a 1971 model 25 HP Evinrude.-----Interchangeability of parts on this legendary 22 cube motor is endless.----It runs at 50:1 mix.

Ok so I thought 50:1 was too much lol. Thanks. Do you know about which carb kit would be the cheapest that would work on it? Would it search 1960 or 1971?

What do you mean with saying --" 50:1 is too much oil " --for this motor ??-----I do not know what carburetor is on this motor !!!-----If you need to be concerned about saving $10 on a carburetor kit you should reconsider owning a motor.----Sorry.

Dude this is the first boat I have ever owned. What am I supposed to do? Play random pick’em? I got on here for help. Not someone to be a smarta$&!!!!!!!!!

Okay....you should go by the powerhead info....Racer has better eyes than me. Have you got a picture of the carb? The transom bracket could have been changed....parts, as Racer said, have great interchangeability. 50:1 is correct ratio with modern oil. You can run 64:1, or 2 oz. Per gallon with Amsoil Saber....I do not recommend that ratio, however, with any other oil.
