Volvo Penta AD41b - After cooler removal

Hi all,
Trying to clean the after cooler of a Volvo Penta Ad41b diesel as the boat is smoking lot of black smoke at full throttle . I was able to get to the insert but not sure how to pull it out from the after cooler housing. Being careful and seeking advice as I dont want to break anything. This is an engine from the early 90s. Is there a nut or bolt under the housing which is holding the insert to the housing ? I see a bolt underneath but not sure it has to be removed for the insert to come out.

Any help is much appreciated :)

Pull the drain plug and push up in the hole.

Also, I tried these tricks before getting to the turbo. Black smoke was the turbo. Local turbo shop rebuilt it for me.

Thank you,
I will try it once the snow clears and post back. Black smoke at full throttle and two marine shops said turbo is fine. So, trying to remove this after cooler and clean the air flow passages.
