I got a tender with a mercury 6hp with a boat I bought. The carb had badly varnished fuel in it so i bought a new one. Plopped it on, and it fired up fine. The engine revs way up in neutral no problem, starts and runs fine, but seems low on HP/won't gain any revs or speed after about 3/4 throttle. Doesn't sound like it's working hard or really trying to.
This is on an 8 foot hard bottom inflatable Mercury Dinghy With 2 adults. Seems like it should go faster and rev out more. Thoughts?
