I have a 2003 Tohatsu MD40B and when the battery is hooked up I can’t get the tilt and trim to work at all. Worked fine until I tried to switch batteries when it was running on low voltage. I have checked the fuse panel under the console and just went ahead and replaced them. Is there another inline fuse I should expect and where is the main on on the motor? Also any direction towards where the solenoid is at would be helpful as that’s next up on the list.

There are at least 3 fuses on the motor. Visible from above. Changing batteries while running can be hard on the rectifier/regulator.

I didn’t change the battery while the motor was running. Also, just paid a mobile mechanic $200 to come over and change a fuse in a literal 2 total minutes. Such is life I suppose.

Okay....so can you explain what you said here:? "Worked fine until I tried to switch batteries when it was running on low voltage".
