Adding Remote start to Chrysler 15 hp outboard

Hello I have a fun little project I am working on. I am converting my 1976 Chrysler 15hp 152HB to remote steer/throttle/start. Doing well on the first two parts (the pictures have a rubber stopper but I have the correct part on order) but reallly not able to find an electric start for this motor. I am unable to find one that fits OEM but I am sure there is something that works perhaps on a different model that would also work on my model, as I do know there are older Chrysler 9.9 and 15hp models that have a starter. Or if there is a little universal starter? I could just weld a bracket? Any thoughts or help is much appreciated!

You'd have to find a motor with electric start and use the parts
from that.
Long, long, long time ago they sold a kit that would just bolt up
and you'd have electric start.

Look around the web for antique outboards or salvage yards.
My best luck is finding a yard usually in the mid west.
Anything along the coasts, is usually junked because of the salt
water they were used in.

Chrysler made one with electric start, it was primarily used on
sailboats and had a long lower unit to reach the water. I see
them from time to time on ebay and "all of Craigslist"

Adapting yours would be hard as the flywheel's teeth probably
wouldn't mesh with any starters.

Good luck.

Yeah! That is the model I am referring to. To the best of my knowledge from pictures it is the exact same motor. I toyed around with looking into parting out one but the cheapest they go for parts is like $150. And if I spend $150 for a motor JUST for the starter it seems more expensive than buying 3 $50 parts over the next month...(hobby logic) Also I went down the junk yard road when I was installing a center console I ripped from an old pontoon. The yards in MI are pretty picked clean.

I appreciate your input. I was hoping someone would see this thread and have a eureka comment that would help!

On route 127 between rt57 and rt55
There's a huge yard there somewhere.
Then there's a couple more, just don't remember where.
I'm from Mi. I moved out in 78 and came back for 5-6 years in the 90's
then moved out again 12 years ago.
