Starcraft Islander - leaking rivers?

I recently picked up a 1988 Starcraft Islander 221v. Someone mentioned to me that some aluminum boats will develop leaks at the rivets every time the boat is taken to rough waters such as a windy day on the Pacific Ocean. Has anyone had issues with leaking rivets on these Larger Starcraft vessels? I had thought they were more or less designed with the needs of deep sea fishermen in consideration so it seemed odd to me that the rivets would not hold up to the environment for which it was designed.

I am replacing some deck boards and deciding whether to pull out the floatation foam to do a wet test to see if any of the rivets leak. The outdrive is currently not attached so I have not been able to perform a wet test yet.

I Will keep this thread updated with any of my findings.

Thanks!
