Mercury 135hp wont stay running

I just purchased a boat with a 1994 Mercury 135HP 2 stroke engine. When i start the engine the only way i can keep it running is to continually press the choke over and over again each time it bogs down. What can i do to resolve this?
 
Clean the carburetors.------But first a compression test for future reference is a good idea.----Post your numbers.
