Best practice for seasonal layup

Fogging isn't a bad idea on 4-strokes, since you don't have oil in the fuel. Also, you can always run some 2-stroke fuel at the end to get that oil. Drain the carb, and change the LU lube and store vertically so no trapped water will freeze.

Make sure mice can't get inside. Why do mice go into outboards? They like the smallest hole that they can fit in....why? That keeps them safe from preditors......like weasels.

Great tip about the mice! I bought a fixer hull that came with an old 55HP Johnson, and it had the wires chewed by a rodent. For some reason, they liked the spark plug wires, and didn't touch the other regular wires. It was a junk motor anyway, sat 10 years outdoors. I've had rodents crawl into my car motor from underneath and chew wires also.
