Repair to carbon drain holes on stand up paddle board

Hey guys

Firstly, apologies for hijacking the boat repair forum with non-boat issues.

I have a carbon race stand up paddle board that has cracks on the edges of the drain holes. I dont know how to tackle these cracks as I am reluctant to lat glass over the outter edge of the board and cover the paint work.

I was thinking of either

1 - cutting a rectangular piece of glass and laying it over the drain hole, then cutting a cross into the glass where the hole is and folding the 4 triangles into the hole. However, i'd try to not go so high with the glass as to cover the text. Also, my glass and resin skills are not great, I usually dislodge the glass.

2 - mix some chopped glass into epoxy resin and place it around just the edges of the drain holes, where the cracks are. Just not sure of this would be strong enough?

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

PS - I have already repaired the drain holes on the inside of the board. This looks messy but doesnt matter as a new deck pad will cover the job. Have added pics of this and also pic of what these boards look like

Thanks again

Jon
