I have a pair of these 150's on my boat. 3 months ago I replaced the thermostat/housing assemblies as part of routine maintenance. A couple days ago I got an alarm for low voltage on one engine. I came in and pulled the flywheel cover to get a look at the alternator, and immediately saw that the thermostat housings had been leaking, and getting seawater onto the alternator! Smoked one alternator and definitely got some water into the other one.
Has anybody else had, or heard of, problems with these housings leaking? Thanks...
