1997 VP 7.4L GSi >> help with thermostat

Restored a boat and put a new long block in. Going from salt water to fresh eater which is usually going from a lower to warmer stat. I'm in the 140F area so assumed I would need a 165F'ish thermostat but not seeing anything out there. Another said V/P never did a spec on any stat for my engine other then 140F. My Crusaders and Mercruiser both had water stats for freshwater.

Does anyone know what I need and where I can find it for my MPFI...seems a bit to cold and sorting through some injector issues so I'd like to consider a proper stat too.

Interesting...I wonder why V/P specs the lower for open cooling as all my other engines have been open too!

I'll see what I can find (unless someone has a number for me...)
