Prop pitch for a hydroplane

So I built an 11’ hydroplane (minimost xl) over the summer and put an 1980 Evinrude 35 hp on it. Boat is 76” wide at the widest (top of transom) and weighs about 200 lbs without motor or gas. I haven’t taken it out yet because of warnings about prop pitch. Prop on there is 10x13. Typically, this boat design will do 35mph with a 30 or 35horse. I don’t need to go any faster than that, but I don’t want to waste my motor either. Is the pitch ok or should I go more? I should probably install a tach.

If I use this same motor (I have 2) on my 14’ Starcraft aluminum, would the 13 pitch be ok for that one? Thanks

Yay! I have data!

I got one of those cheapo tachs where you wrap the wire around the spark plug wire. So I currently have the motor on my fishing boat.

1972 14' Starcraft aluminum with center helm
63" wide
400 lbs hull weight
Just me aboard(240 lbs) with no extra gear
5 gallons gas

26mph at 5070 rpm on lowest trim setting
29mph at 5330 rpm on middle (third) trim setting

So this 10x13 seems to be pretty good for this boat. So I imagine I will need a 10x15 for the hydroplane, or maybe a 10x17.
Any thoughts?
