remove lower unit and notice this

I removed lower unit on my 92 Force 70 HP OB to check my impeller. I ordered a water pump kit so I'm waiting for the mailman.
I just happened to look up into the motor leg after covering boat up and noticed a bushing just laying loose just out of reach up into hole where drive shaft goes. Not sure where this goes, also after looking up to top of hole with flashlight, I see another bushing(not sure what it is really) or sleave of some sort kinda half on half off of where it looks like it should go.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's a grease sleeve.
Or Driveshaft spline seal and retainer.
It keeps the grease on the splines and
seals it so it doesn't go away.

Thanks for the reply. Will the shaft go back up in without any trouble? I'm wondering because the sleave that is still up inside is not straight up and down and I don't know if I could get it out of there.

It has to come out.
It should probably fall out??
It needs to be installed on the top
of the shaft after it's greased real
good.
