1985 Force 85 HP Carb

I have 1985 Force 85 HP Model#856X5L can someone tell me what carb rebuild kit it need, crowley marine said there is two kind of carb one is side jet the other is bottom jet. Thank
 
FK10177 bottom NLA
FK10220 side, it's still available.

What carb do you have?
Is the jet in the screw that holds the bowl on?
These parts are real hard to find.

Unless they are realllllly!!!! corroded they can be
cleaned and reused.
 
I haven't take out the carb yet, one of gasket on the bottom of the bowl is missing so it is leaking gas, I order fuel pump rebuild kit, after I rebuild the fuel pump I will test it in the water and see how it run
 
I have the bottom jet carb, there is no more carb rebuild kit so I can only clean and blow all the hole with compressor but it run good now
 
Most of the time all you need to do is clean it with
Dawn soap or carb cleaner and maybe a new bowl
gasket.
The carb soaks and chemical cleaners can swell the
rubber in the needle and seat and melt plastic.

Unless the carbs really corroded you don't have to
do much.
