I had a complete rebuilt drive installed and the “new” sensor that came with it didn’t work. I retrieved the old one before the shop returned the core and it works. The problem is I couldn’t remove the bad one without destroying it because I couldn’t slide it up enough. It would hit the top of the rectangular cutout in the above picture almost immediately (the top of the cutout slopes down from front to back). Can I just grind out the top of the cutout enough so the old sensor can slide in? I’m going to need about 2 more inches of space. Any thoughts?
