I have a 1998 ChrisCraft Deck boat with a 5.7GS.
It runs great but for the life of me, I cannot find the serial number. I have identified through drawings and years that it is a 5.7GSPLK or 5.7GSPBY but there are a number of parts that are different numbers on these two engines and various sub-models that start with these numbers.
Can someone tell me where on the block you would expect to find the serial# plate? I have scoured every surface on top like the valve covers and heads and I find no plate.
I see where they say there is one on the back of the block but ChrisCraft makes looking back there EXTREMELY difficult and I have yet to capture anything using my cell phone as a second set of eyes. Granted, you have to know at least a basic location since it is a maze of cables, wires, pipes and hoses.
Any other ideas on how I could get an Id from an engine such as this?
Thanks!
