Is there a general rule of thumb on when to change your transmission fluid? By number of engine hours or age? I couldn't find anything in my old operation manual, only the spec for the fluid.

The BW owner's manuals I have suggest annually on pleasure boats and every 1000 hours on work boat.

If there's any doubt on its condition, you could always do the used oil analysis option.
