I have a merc 60 ct on my pontoon boat . Never in salt water . My question is #1... motor has 148 hours on it(2015). While in idle through a local canal the boat sputtered and stopped. Wouldn’t start and had to be towed in ,had grandkids and family in boat( embarrassed).
So, took it to great mechanic, he gave me this info...compression test cyl #4 was 0,cyl 3and 4 had water present.NO alarm at all! What is wrong? Boat and motor are serviced regularly,ethanol free fuel too!
I think I need to call Mercury! Warranty expired in 2018....
