Various applications .Locking down a cooler frame and still have a flat deck or swim platform when not in use, use you imagination .Pins available in most boat shops, Graingers, Mc Master Carr, etc. Called a "Avi-Pin" . Retainer is knurled SS .620 dia
 
Maybe somebody can provide a link? I didn't have any luck.

This system may, or may not, be better then the system provided with the cooler.
