Advice needed please Yamaha 150 v6 Powerhead Getting Hot

Good Day to everyone,

I have a couple of issues which I hope knowledgeable members can assist me with.

The Power heads are getting hot more so at the top of the Power heads, I’m also not able to place my hand on the engine for no more than roughly 2 seconds, also on idle there is no water exiting the two ports on the leg, however when middle to higher throttle is applied water does start to come out the two ports, but when the throttle is reduced back to lower throttle and idle the water stops coming out the two ports.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Thank you for the message, I’m a little confused. The engine is getting very hot, I forgot to mention it stalls on idle, and it doesn’t pump water out of the 2 ports on the leg on idle until the give it revs or you throttle up.

When's the last time a water pump was installed?
What is your model number?
