I recently purchased a 2003 Chaparral 183SS with a 4.3 GXi-C with 174 hours on it.
within a few weeks of owning it I put in a new sea water pump and thermostat. Because the pump was leaking. And do the pump, replace the thermostat.
After I replaced them, I took it out and everything was fine.... until I stopped for about 30 minutes. After that the boat did not want to plane off at all. It is usually very quick and easy. Now it is very sluggish and I have to play with the trim to get the bow down. But once it goes down it has no problem cruising or running at WOT.
there is no engine alarm. The temps are below 180. Oil pressure is at 40. Voltage is normal.
any ideas on this?
