1992 Mercury 40 HP Carb reassembly

[h=2]Hello! First post for me. I'm doing some carb (WMA) cleaning on my 1992 Mercury 40 HP 2 stroke outboard (Serial# 0d173870, Model# 1040411MD, ELHPTO). When reassembling the carbs, how is the brass baffle in the float bowl retained? I'm guessing the bowl wedges the little curved tab between the bowl and gasket? Thanks much for any help![/h]
 
Positioning the baffle stem under the gaskets worked out fine. It's a good fit and the outboard ran very well all week.
 
I think we both have the same motor - Serial number OD172656 but for some reason, I cant find a water impeller kit for it. Have you had the same problem?
 
Lou----Is your motor a 4 cylinder?------Usually you just need a new impeller.-----That is my opinion , that will not change.----Get a factory impeller at your dealer and save some beer tokens.
