I have a 2004 Crownline 240EX with a 350 mag and Bravo 3.I replaced the lower shift cable, but still have a hard time shifting from neutral to reverse and forward. If I remove the shift detent ball and spring from the outdrive, it shifts great. Has anyone run with the detent removed? I was thinking the shifter detent would be enough to find neutral. Also, I always turn the engine off and remove the key anytime someone is in the water.
