Good afternoon guys . I've been having a problem finding the right motor for my 2000 sea era 23 foot walk around . I would love to go to two motors or a four stroke . Only problem is my max hp rating goes to a 230 and every local shop says a 200 or 150 4 stroke will not move the boat. What are some options on how I can get a more dependable motor.

Here is one sweet motor. Tohatsu and Honda have worked together for decades. Who marketed the first successful 4 stroke outboard? How about small engines....motorcycles? Honda has Yamaha beat hands down....in my experience. Go ahead and check out this motor.

I work on Yamahas quite often.....I'm not impressed. Honestly, I think Tohatsu/Honda is a better outboard. Only had 4 or 5 Tohatsu or Honda in here for work in the last 20 years. Worst repair was a frozen lower unit on a 40 Tohatsu and that was owner neglect. Guy was towing it great distances with motor in neutral .....damaged prop shaft seal.....besides that he left water in for the winter....housing didn't crack but rust developed.....never checked oil come spring. By mid summer the upper bearing froze up. See this alot in all outboards. This here is the best outboard I ever bought new. It's your call, but Tohatsu/Honda is my first choice.....and I went to school with Johnson/Evinrude.....outboard repair and rebuilding since 1966.
