Bf 50 overheating

My BF 50 the red light for overheating came on today. I didn't have the alarm come on. It ran fine back to dock. Lite went off for a while but came back on. Plenty of water coming out of pp hole.it wasn't hot maybe a little warm. I just replaced impeller kit about 50 hrs ago. I did this once before but it was 2 years ago but wasn't using boat much maybe 1 time per month. Now use it alot more. Every weekend. Is 50 hrs normal life for the impeller or maybe some other problem. I checked thermostat last time and was working good.
 
Must be overheating, does you alarm work? Easiest way to test the alarm is to disconnect the oil pressure switch then run the engine, the alarm should go off after about 10 secs.

When I changed impeller in Feb the alarm came on. I'll check to see if it's still working. Thank you
