Pieces of Seawater Pump Impeller

I have a 1996 Mercruiser 7.4L 454. The impeller from the seawater pump came apart. I have replaced the impeller, thought I got most of the pieces of the old one. The exhaust manifold is getting way too hot, pulled it off and cant find an obstruction there. So feel it may be a piece of the impeller slowing down water flow. Where is the most likely place to look for the obstruction and remove it?
 
As there are several hose routing schemes for various flavors of this lump, the general rule is to pull everything apart and look. Take no chances or shortcuts.
 
I agree!
Do your due diligence and find all the impeller fragments.
See if you can forensically re-construct the impeller as you retrieve them.
