Volvo penta lower unit

Have a 1999 volvo penta. Sx-m. And found a good deal on a used 2012dps-b and was wondering if I it would fit my boat

The engine will determine the final drive reduction.
What engine do you have?

I believe that the DPS-B is the 1.95:1, of which is suitable for a small block engine.

So my question is can I take the dps-b lower unit and bolt it on my sx-m upper unit

I am mostly experienced with the AQ series drives that ran up to 1996.
Best if you ask your question of a later model volvo penta tech.
