350 mag MPI, must throttle to start when cold

Thank you everyone for your help this. I have a 2000, formula with twin Mercruiser 350 MPI. The starboard engine is difficult to start when cool. First started the day requires quite a bit of throttle and rubbing it up, about half the time. Once it started it purrs like a kitten and runs fine. This motor has always run about 10 degrees cooler than the other one, if that matters to the situation. Any ideas?

Mechanic thinks possibly fuel injector stuck open, but wouldn't that also affect running quality? Thanks so much.

I'm with your mechanic. You can test his theory by running the engine dry by pulling the fuse for its fuel pump. If it starts right up the next time you'll know.
