Ok so I have a getting hot issue.... no clue why ....
this is a fresh water boat.. boat has never seen salt water in its life..
96’ VP 5.7l (throttle body injected model) with a VP DP-C1 out drive
In the last month I have done
-bellows
-PDS bearing
-rebuilt trim cylinders
-oil change
-new water pickup pump (belt drive on front of the engine)
-new thermostat (now removed with same issue)
I repulled the water pickup pump to check that and all seemed good there.
I pulled the outlet hose that connects to the thermostat housing and have a healthy amount coming out of it.
No water in the oil..
What am I missing... ?
My thoughts...
-my dumbass dropped or left something in the thermostat hole or dropped something in there that is now causing an obstruction.
-engine circulation pump is no good and not circulating( I have a new one from another small block Chevy I could throw on it)
Anyone else have this issue ? What else can I check ?
