I have a 7.5HP Mercury SN 3933605. I pulled the carb on this engine, had it hot soaked, and put back together with new gaskets. I've noticed now one of the wings on the venturi in the carb has broken off, and the venturi can easily get out of position within the throat of the carb - such as its turned sideways to the flow of air. Will the engine run poorly like this with the venturi in the wrong position? Is the venturi required for this engine to run well?. Can the intact wing be glued in place so the venturi doesn't turn inside the throat of the carb? If so can you recommend how to glue it.
