Hello I bought my father in laws 1969 Starcraft falcon 14. It came with a Johnson motor. I’m unaware of engine size and year. All I got is the model number rx 40-0. Two stroke. Any help would be appreciated.

I will check...heading to shop now. Don't see it.....got picture of the tag?

RX was used on 2 cylinder 28 HP in 62 / 63 / 64 and also for 33 HP from 65 to 1970.----Do not believe they ever used RX 40------Picture ( if motor is a 69 model ) might identify what you have in 2-1/2 seconds.

Like a late 60s early 70s remote electric start. Fuel pump is a giveaway to 60's. Block will accept a newer model pump. Earlier models were 33 HP. Racer is onto it. He can rebuild one of these while blindfolded. I have a 28 horse here, very fast motor.

Powerhead is white.------In 1967 they started using green paint till 1977!!----Last production year for the 33 was 1970.-----That fuel pump was only shown up to 1963 models.----So you have a 1962 or 63 model 28 HP.----An excellent / reliable / simple motor from a bygone era.

Thank you everyone you all have no idea how this helps

I still run em love em. Grew up in nowwheresville.....trusting these babies with my life. Took 2 guys to get it loaded into a de Havilland. Beaver. Built in the 50's, still the best float plane ever made. Mercs were okay, but Dad preferred Johnson Evinrude. He called Mercs "overengineered".
