Hello, I acquired a Johnson 40 hp motor with a blown had gasket for close to nothing. I may try to install it on a boat I'm looking at restoring, however, I can't seem to fibd a reasonably priced tilt and trim unit. My question is- Do I need tilt and trim for it? it would be going on an older Lund Pike 16. Also, it's a long shaft.
