4.3 GXi No power when engaging full throttle.

Hi guys,

I've got an issue with my 4.3 GXi, it starts and ticks over without issue and I can move it around and out of the mooring fine with low throttle. But when I try and engage more throttle the engine just starts to die, revs high but no power.

Any ideas what this could be?

Damaged/slipping prop hub.... however depending on which drive you have, there are other possibilities.


and.... to my literal engineering mind, "... the engine just starts to die, revs high..." is somewhat contradictory.
