No oil alarm going off

I have a 1998 johnson 90hp. Yesterday the no oil light/alarm came on. It will always come on at about 2.5 min of running time. Im changing the oil filter right now but old one seems really clean. Whats the next few steps to find the problem. Could it be as simple as a bad senser or gauge.

Mix fuel at 50:1 in your tank until you sort this out.----There are 2 different 90 HP model in 1998 so post your model #
 
The model of the outboard is a spl.
If the oil sensor is bad can i just replace the sensor or is that part of the vro pump
 
Iv looked at the hose that i can see looks good but thinking about replacing it do i just use fuel line and a reg primer bulb

You could up to several years ago..now it comes as a VRO assembly.. only use a rubber line like for transmission and OEM bulb due to check valves. If this dowsnt help need to rest VRO as oil side maybe failing.
