Hi Guys

I have a V/p 5.0 GL motor which is carbed with a factory electric pump.

Boat runs strong with no issues and will top out at 4400 rpm.

The electric fuel pump (Single pump set up with no cell) is noisier than usual and is too hot to touch while running.

The filters are new. Anti siphon valve is clean and functioning.

Suspect pressure is adequate.

If the voltage and grd are ok with s minimal voltage drop is this 25 yr old pump on its way out or is a bit of noise and heat acceptable?

Thanks

Hi Guys

What I should have asked is how hot is too hot for an electric fuel pump which is not mounted to or in a VST tank.

This particular pump is screwed into the fuel filter mounting bracket on the front of the motor and is a low press. unit for a carb.

Thanks

Hi Bob

That’s good advice.

I’ll probably cut it open after I replace it.

I don’t think I have ever seen the insides of one.

On a second thought, I may keep it for a spare.

Thanks Again
