Can I Manually lower trim and keep it there?!?

Hello,

ive got a mercury 1994 90hp 2 stroke that has a completely screwed electric motor. The trim is stuck 1/4 way up so whenever I get on the plane the prop ventilates and The boat starts bouncing.

I want to manually trim all the way down, if I release the nylon screw will the motor stay down to use or will I have to do something else to stop it from coming back up?

thanks.

If you are talking about the bleed screw on the side, that is used to tilt the engine when the PTT isn't self activating. Prop thrust will keep it down in F gear if you can get it down. In R it may try to lift if you get the RPMs up too high. I see the screw as a bypass port that bypasses fluid that would otherwise be controlled by the cylinder movement. I never did what's discussed here, just would consider trying it if I were there.
